Jonny
CO-FOUNDER
Jonny grew up in Madison WI. He learned to golf at a young age, played in several tournaments and worked at courses throughout much of his childhood. Early on, he appreciated how meaningful and beautiful the game of golf is, but was keenly aware how golf culture leans exclusive, starchy and overly formal.
After graduating with a degree in Philosophy and an entrepreneurial spirit in tow, he started a photography business with his wife Michelle that is going strong 15 years later.
Never having lost a love for golf or artistic creation, Jonny saw an opportunity to create a golf brand with a purposeful platform and design, that doesn’t exist in today’s saturated market of polos.
Enter, Good Lion Golf.
Taylor
CO-FOUNDER
Taylor played every sport besides golf while growing up in the suburbs of Chicago IL. Wishing he found the game earlier in life is one of the things that drives him to make it more approachable for everyone - as well as an overall disdain for khakis. He credits his college friends, brothers-in-law and father-in-law for finding the game at the age of 25, and for pushing him to improve his game (so he can one day beat them).
When he isn't spending time with his wife Erin and their 4 active kids, you can find him at the local muni (usually in the rough right of the fairway), or in whatever member-guest tournament might be happening that weekend.
When it comes to hobbies, in Taylor's mind, it doesn't get much better than being outside with friends, chasing that elusive feeling of a crisp iron shot...all while wearing something comfortable.
Standing on the 16th tee box on a rather punishing March day, Jonny decided to take out a driver on a short par-4 requiring a tenuous carry.
Upon contact Jonny knew it had been struck well, but lost the ball in low-hanging, dense clouds. He glanced over at Taylor and looked for reassurance asking: “Is it safe?” to which he promptly replied: “Oh no Jonny. It isn’t safe. But it is good.”

Deriving from both a deep love and appreciation of the game, as well as a displeasure at the omnipresent bland, recycled and stagnant “golf-style”, we bring to you Good Lion Golf: an original and fresh offering in a sport that has been around for centuries.
We’re seeking to honor traditional elements with an updated approach.
